Weekend getaway must-haves
Hello lovelies! Welcome back to A Touch of Rosey! It is officially summer and that means WEEKEND GETAWAYS! Weekend getaways are so much easier in the summer because work slows down, the weather is nicer (I say as its pouring outside my house...), and everything is open. But lets be real, vacations are so difficult to pack for no matter what because you never know what you're going to need! Here are some basic staples and some of my personal favorites that everyone should have especially when going on a summer vacation. The colors are of course based around the most raved about Pantone colors this season and if you haven't already check them out on instagram! (descriptions and links can be found for each of these items below)
Maxi Skirt Maxi skirts are so easy to style and are perfect for an everyday look. Pair it with a graphic tee for a more casual look or you can pair it with a blousy top and some statement earrings for a night out. either way its a must have. And what is more beautiful than this blush beauty from Morning lavender.
I have said this before and I promise you it won't be the last time I say it. Jumpsuits are the way to go in summer. Especially when you're a spontaneous adventurer like me. You never know what you're going to get yourself into so you should be prepared by dressing accordingly. This is one of my personal favorites because I am able to throw on a pair of keds with it and walk right out the door.
Romper Because every jumpsuit needs a romper best friend right? I mean I'm pretty sure that's how the saying goes. Anyways, I am LIVING for this romper right now it is so beachy and cute I can't, and that tie in the back? Anthro y'all have me SHOOK!
One Piece Well, if you're going to the beach/lake you will probably want a swimsuit to go along with it ;) It was so hard finding the perfect suit for this list because I love them all so much. I'm also a naturally indecisive person with so many options how could anyone pick the right one?! I did decided to go with the Marysia Scalloped cutout one piece from Anthropologie. Such a simple yet flirty twist on the basic one piece. Plus I love the blush coloring, its great for summer!
Skort Stay cute and trendy with this Cruise Control skirt form Vestique. Not only does it look chic but it is insanely comfortable. Great for those hot days of walking around and sight seeing.
Hat I'm all a bout a good hat and this takes such a girly twist on your basic denim hat. So 90's right?! from the light denim wash to the big bow whats not to love? you can find this dime at Urban Outfitters for just $29!
What better vacation shoe than an espadrille with tassels?! I mean if that doesn't scream summer I am not sure what does. I love the cream color of these that are sure to match any outfit you pair them with. The low platform style makes it easy to wear with longer bottoms without hurting your feet.
Sunnies Why not take a twist on the classic aviators with this look! I am so into this fun glasses trend going on there is so much room for creativity that everyone is going nuts! I went with the Elin sunnies from Anthropologie that have a pastel pink frame and a simple brown tinted frame. Purse
I don't know about y'all but if I am running all around town exploring I don't want a huge bag around my arm getting in the way so I like to bring something small that I can throw around my body and just go. This is a heckin cute option from Target. Target has some of the most basic purses and they are fantastic as a staple purse that you can use all the time. This bag is only $24.99 people!! AND it comes in two colors, a neutral for your everyday look and a periwinkle blue for those of us that like a little bit of color in our lives ;)
As much as we all would like to believe we need a huge bag to put everything in for the weekend, you truly just need cute weekender duffel bag to put everything in, I mean it's called a weekender bag for a reason! Target has a beautiful collection of duffel bags but the Monogrammed Brown Striped Leather Weekender Tote from Cathy Concepts has to be my favorite. It looks less like you're going to a slumber party and more like you're going on a vacation!
